Bambuco is an Afro-Ecuadorian group from Esmeraldas on the north
coast of Ecuador. They play marimba style music typical of the region signified
by repetitive rythms with heavy percussion and sparse lyrics with the always
present Marimba supplying the melody. The word "Bambuco" also refers to
the kind of dance which often accompanies this music.
