Trio Arequipa was
a highlight of our journey to Arequipa, a beautiful city in southern
Peru. Vocalist Magdalita Begazo of Trio Arequipa really wowed us with
her amazing voice complementing the other fine musicians when we
recorded 3 videos at the "Claustros de la Compania de Jesus." The
first selection we have for you is the exceptional rendition of "Al Pie
del Misti," (At the foot of Misti Mountain) written by Sixto Recabarren
Yaravi, and is a great example of the Yaravi music of Arequipa.
