Music by Country

Howling Earth is
a world music project designed to bring the sounds of Latin America
and beyond to everyone. We make live video recordings of authentic
traditional, indigenous, folk and street music for sale and distribution
as dvds as well as pre-recorded cds of Latin American
music groups and individual artists. At least one of the music videos from each group will
be available as a free download.
We practice fair trade policies and the musicians represented on our site recieve a fair and equal share of all sales for their contributions. In some cases we have had to pay the musicians a one time sum because they have no access to the internet or a bank account. This site is not meant to be a comprehensive or academic catalogue of all the music on this continent. We are travelling South America recording videos of artists from the various musical traditions that we encounter. We hope that this web site will put the videos in context for people unfamiliar with the music.
